| The Kawartha Lakes Region
includes communities with names familiar to many and associated with happy memories. From
Bobcaygeon's swing bridge and lock to the incredibly beautiful rocky shores of Buckhorn,
Sandy, and Curve Lake, to the small town atmosphere of Burleigh Falls, Apsely, Young's
Point and Lakefield, there is no shortage of things to do and places to visit in the
Kawarthas. The most unique lake in the Region
is Sandy Lake. It is spring fed, quite shallow, and has a white sandy bottom (hence
the name Sandy Lake). What makes this Lake so unique is its clarity and colour.
On a sunny day, the water is an aqua colour - you'd think you were in the Caribbean! The
lake is about a mile across and four miles long, so it is almost always calm - great for
canoeing, paddle boating and kayaking. Also, since the lake is shallow it's great for
kids, and warms up very early in the season.
Margarita Ville is very secluded and is located on
prestigious Sandy Lake. It is a 2,800 sq. ft. cozy A-Frame style finished with unique
rustic decor. It has six bedrooms, a living room (with fireplace), kitchen, fireplace,
dining room, family room, three bathrooms, and a screened-in porch. It is surrounded by
1,500 sq. ft. of deck overlooking the lake. The shore line is approximately 300 ft. of
rugged granite flowing into a white sandy bottom. There is a fire pit, a dock, a picnic
table, and plenty of Muskoka style chairs to relax in. Water sport equipment includes a
canoe and paddle boat. |
