How to order

Money order is the preferred payment. I no longer accept cheques. Don't send cash. Jim has PayPal if you want to use that method but you have to order from his store.

Cover letter

There is no online ordering from this web site. Use your word processing program or a pen (please don't use pencil) and paper and mail me a cover letter that looks something like the following example.

" 
Dear George:

I want to buy

1 of t-shirt x in size x for x dollars
1 poster pattern x for x dollars

I am adding x dollars for handling
for a total cost of x dollars"

Add your name and address, e-mail address and payment, then mail it to

If you e-mailed me to reserve items don't forget to say that in your cover letter. Thanks!

A regular letter sent from the US takes 4 to 7 days to reach me.

If you use the $4 Global Priority envelope to send your letter it might reach me in 3 days or it may take longer. I'm not sure it is worth the extra money.

Avoid using the $15 express mail. It takes 3 days but generally there is nobody home to sign for it so 3 days are lost until they phone me to come and pick it up.

Shipping

The previous formula for estimating postage costs no longer works. That means you have to email me with your request and I will figure out what the shipping is. Just to give you an idea of how much postage has gone up it would cost me $11 to ship a box of tissues to the US and that is just regular parcel delivery.

No more overseas orders will be accepted. Sorry!

Payment

You should make payment to George Hong. If you put Millennium Moon on a money order the post office gives me a hard time.

Canadian orders use Canadian prices. All other orders use US prices.

US customers please make sure you

DON'T use this one because it is for cashing in the US only. If you are using the US postal service get the one that says "international" on it instead. Money orders from Travellers Express, Western Union, a bank or trust company are fine. The ones from 7-11 are ok too.

Delivery times

The estimated delivery time is six to twelve business days for regular parcel delivery.

Insurance

Insurance is not included unless otherwise stated. The post office covers the first $100 if a package goes missing or gets damaged. There are conditions though so it may not be easy to file a claim.

Substitutions

If I run out of a particular backpack, poster, puzzle or t-shirt that you asked for I will make a substitution unless you give instructions otherwise.

Returns

Different online stores have different return policies. Some say "no returns". Some say "ask for permission first". Some don't say anything about returns. We say "ask us, it depends on the situation". I test the clocks, wands and other battery-operated items so I expect them all to work when you get delivery. The exception is the watches because the batteries won't last indefinitely.

The problem is the huge cost of sending items in the mail. It is not easy like going back to store where you bought something. So please ask before ordering something. Anyway in the past we have offered a credit to be used on your next order or a partial refund. It depends on the situation.

Lost mail

It is very rare but mail does get lost. If you plan to send payment via a courier instead of regular mail please tell me first. I need to tell you where to redirect delivery. Otherwise nobody will be around when the courier arrives and days are lost until I can arrange to get the delivery myself.
