National Enquirer

Here is a story Julia told to Jay Leno on the Tonight Show. When Julia was very young she tried to get her mother's attention by sticking raisins in her nose. "Mommy, mommy look!" she said. Mommy laughed and said "take them out." Unfortunately little Julia snorted and the raisins were sucked deep into her nostrils. This resulted in a trip to the emergency room where tweezers were used to clear the blockage.

Describing her childhood Julia said: "I was a clown."

1996 Emmy Awards

Louis-Dreyfus, who crossed her fingers and mouthed 'please' before the winner was announced, won her first Emmy in five nominations for her role as Elaine on NBC's Seinfeld.

"A lot of people say that our show is about nothing, but of course it's been about plenty of something for me," she said fighting tears.
